I have always been interested in creative expression. Art, in some form, has been a force in my life.
I graduated from Vanderbilt University with a BA in art history. In 1970, I moved from Nashville, TN to Little Rock with my husband and two children, where I became involved in volunteering and classes at the Arkansas Arts Center and the University of Arkansas at Little Rock.
After my children were grown, I became employed part time at Poe Travel. From domestic travel, to view exhibitions of art museums around the world, to escorting trips to Asia, Africa and India, my love of art grew even more.
During this time, I also found time to take classes in watercolor (my first love) and more recently in oil. I have had the privileged of studding under Robert Moore, Scott Christensen, George Strickland, David Gallup, Guido Frick and locally with Barry Thomas.
It has been through my travels and painting that I relive the sights, sounds and tastes of other cultures. I also spend some of each summer in Colorado, where I love to experience plein air painting as I view its mountains, rivers and wildlife. I have painted on location in Italy, Greece and France.
Life is full of color and painting gives me a way to express my feelings on paper and canvas.
